Special memorial services for tho late General Booth were held yesterday in all Salvationist citadels, General Booth's favourite hymns being sung. There were many references to General Booth's life and work in other places of worship, including tributes from Canon Ncwbolt, of St. Paul's, -Prebendary Carlisle, of the Church Army, and Father M'Kenun. Melbourno, August 20. | Six thousand persons attended a memorial service for tho lato General Booth in tho Exhibition building. Tho congregation included tho Governor (Sir John Fuller) and his wife, Mr. Fisher (Federal Premier), and Mr. 'Watt (Slate Premier). Commissioner Hay presided. Tho Governor and Mr. Fisher paid high tributes to tho General's influence and work. Brisbane, August 26. Tho Salvationists' memorial service for General Booth was largely attended. Many references to tho General wero mado in tho churches. Sydney, August 26. ,' Many tributes to tho lato General Booth were paid in tho churches yesterday. Lord Islington has icceived tho following reply to his cablo message of sympathy to Mr. AV. Bi-amwell Booth on the death of his father, the lata' General Booth:—"Heartfelt thanks for "message.
