FIERCE CONFLICT WITH BANDITS. By Telegraph-Press Association-Copyright (Rec. August 25, 5,5 p.m.) ... Lisbon, August 25. Iho police have raided a gambling den at Chaves, which was frequented by smugglers and bandits. After a fierce conflict, in which five persons were killed and fourteen wounded, £0500 was seized, iorty-three arrests wero made.
