Tho local State School Committee arts arranging for a "social," to bo held at an early date, for the purpose of raisins funds for the school library. "Socials" nro also to be organised for tho purpose of raising funds for the Domain ground, the local brass band, tho Otaki and Tβ Horo Catholic Churches, and the loci\l Druids' Lodge. A "sports night" concert will also bo mooted in the course of a week or so. Anion;; those who gained success at tho Anjjjer competitions is Mr. Byron Drown. .Besides gaining several first prizes, he secures three gold medals, two being specially donated, one for best elocutionist, and the other for the Shakespearean" secThe Otal;i Ladies' Uoetay Club have won the championship anil i'rown banner for this season, securing tea wins with olio loss.
