SUBURBAN TRAINS.
CHANGE OP TEH MINUS WANTED. The running of trains from Johnson* villo and intermediate stations to Lambton instead of to Thorndtm was advocated by n, numerous deputation, representing , Johnsonville, Khandallab, and _ Ngaio, which , was introduced to the Minister for Railways yesterday by Mr. W. 11. D. Hell, 11.1\ Sir. Thompson, chairman of tho Jclin* sonvillo Town Hoard, who was the principal speaker, asked tho Minister to consider tho running of 7.10 and 8.20 morning trains into town, and tho 5.J5 and 0.26 trains from town in. the evening, to end from Lnmbton Station, instead of to mid from Thomdou Station, as at present. To do this, ho stated, would only i.fccssitato a slight alteration in tho lime-table on tho Hutt line, and possibly n- slight Alteration in tho Mannwatn limo-tnble. This request had been turned down before, possibly because tho Minister then ap« proached thought tint the peoplo making (ho request wanted tho trains to stop at Thorndon Station as well as at Lambton. This was not eo._ A great majority of the passengers using these trains would prefer to havo them run to Lambton rather than to Thorndon. It might bo six years before "Wellington, got a new station, and they did not think it right that they should go on for that timo under the present disadvantageous circumstances. Tho Minister said that ho would consult his Departmental oflicers. The difficulty eecmod to te that existing time-tables would havo to bo altered. There worn several Hutt-lino trains which arrived at about tlio same timo as Manmvatu train*. Tho matter could, only bo considered wlion a general alteration of time-tables was to be mado.
