Invitations were extended to all mnmlers to be present at'the next meeting of the New Zealand Philatelic Society, which is to be held in the. Dominion Museum on September 6. On that occasion a collection of United States stamps will bo displayed. A prize of one guinea was received from the New Zealand Society for competition amongst jnnior members. Both the invitation and prize were accepted with thanks. An offer from Australia to supply the Junior Society with an eight-page monthly journal, containing accounts of meetings and philatelic matter of interest to junior members generally was received. It was decided to take CO copies per month and distribute them gratis amjong members. The following were elected members:— Messrs. Wardopp, G. S. Harrison. E. J. ( Simpson, and T. Sutherland (Masterton). The stamps' displayed , at last night s meeting were those from tho Balkan ' States. Mr. M. T. Acocks lent his col- ' lection of stamps from Turkey, Servia, 1 and Eoumania for inspection._ On account 1 of junior, members not having collected stamps from the troublous States of Montenegro and East Roumelia, these specimens were not exhibited. It was remarked that perhaps the unsettled state of the countries mentioned had caused members to consider exchange as a bad investment. ___^_____
