CATHOLIC MEN'S CLUB
The twenty-eighth half-yearly meeting of the Wellington Catholic Men's Club was hold on Thursday evening in (ho club rooms, St. Patrick's Hall, a large number being present. In the absence of tho president, the Very Rev. Dean O'Shea, Mr. J. M'Gowan, vice-president, occupied tho chair. The Rev. Father Herring, spiritual director, ofid tho flev. Father Venning, vice-president, were 'also present. The report and balance-sheet, which were adopted, indicated that the club had made satisfactory progress during; tho halfyear, and also that the financial position was sound, there being a credit balance of .£5 11s. 3d. The election of officers for the ensuing half-year resulted as follows:—Patron, his Grace Archbishop Redwood; president Very Kev. Dean O'Shea; vice-presidents, Very Rev. Dean Regnault, Rev. Fathers Venning, Hickson, and Herring, Itev. Bro. Justin. Messrs. M. Kennedy, M. O'Connor, C. P. Skerrett, .T. M'Gowan, and G. Deo; iion. secretary, Mr. C. A, Carmine; lion, treasurer, Mr. J. Quinn; executive, Messrs. J. L. Leytlori, B. Leydoii, B. Sheehan, \T. Tiller, H. Carrutliers,. B. Duffy, SI. o'Ko.ne, G. M'Namara, and R. G , . Butcher; lion, auditors, Messrs. J. F. O'Learyand ■F. M'Donald. - Several speeches were made referring in ; terms of appreciation to the work of the retiring executive. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the secretary,- treasurer, and other outgoing officers. Several notices of motion were discussed at length, and a, large amount of other business transacted.
