The "Evening Standard" states that Britain lias accepted, on principle, an invitation to officially participate in the Panama Exhibition, which is to be hold in San Francisco to celebrate the opening of the Canal. The intimation to that effect has given the greatest satisfaction in Washington. NOVEL ADVERTISING SCHEME. (Rec. August 23, 0.55 a.m.') Now York, August 22. The Associated Chambers of Commerce on tho Pacific Coast are arranging for a 20,000-mile voyage by a steamer, which will tour Australia and New Zealand, China, and Japan, to advertise the San Francisco-Panama Exhibition.
