Young, member for Waikato, who put forward a.strong plea in behalf of backblock settlers. Mr. Vigor Brown, member .for N.ipier, followed. He spoke for .about .three-quarters of an hour. Tho next speaker was Mr. F. Marnier (memter for Maralen), who devoted ten minutes to a dignjfied but pointed criticism of tho methods resorted to by tho member for.
