Mr. Geoffrey S.vme, ono of llio proprietors of tho "Ago" newspaper, lia<l a sensational encounter with ft burglar. Ho was awakened by a man appearing in bis bedroom carrying an electric lamp. '-I'lic. intruder presented a revolver and Symo grappled with him. After a fierce struggle, the- burglar firing several shots ono of which grazed Mr. Symc's arm, tho latter eventually overmastered the burglar and held him till assistance arrived. The man was severely handled and hod to be removed to the gaol hospital. Mr. Symo is confined to his bed with several punctures in bis breast, inflicted by his assailant with a pair of snips. During the struggle Mr. Symo and his assailant rolled downstairs locked together. Mr. Symo secured the burglar's Browning revolver and battered bis head till he was unconscious. The heads of lxith men wore severely cut in the fall. Mr. Symc's toenail was torn off and ono of his fingers was bitten almost through. Ho bled extensively from wounds in the chest. The burglar became violent in tho hospital and had to lie strapped in bed. The. police have identified him as "Ginger" Moore, a notorious criminal, and the alleged leader of a gang of masked burglars who some time ago terrorised Sydney. Moore was recently released after serving a long sentence for burglary. .
