SUN-STRUCK MAN KILLS FOUR

Captain Hicks Murray, late of tho Gordon Highlanders, after wounding his wife and killing two of his children and a woman who was in tho house and her child, fired his house, at Eastbourne, and then committed suicide. The live corpses were badly charred. The widow was rescued. Murray had suffered from sunstroke in India, Latterly ho was with the Territorials at Eastbourne. Ho suffered from insomnia, and was sometimes violent to his wife. Mrs. Murray states that she and her children arrived at their homo on Sunday night, and that she was unaware that anybody but her husband and themselves woro in tho house. Sho is unable to account for the presence of tho dead woman and the third child. A note was loft by Murray stating that ho was ruined, and adding that ho, had killed his dependents, and desired all to be buried in one grave. , It appears the bodies were placed in a line, and the room saturated with oil. (Roc. August 20, 11.15 p.m.) London, August 20. It now appears that the dead woman found in Murray's house at Eastbourne was Murray's wife, and tho sister of tho wounded woman. \ . Murray was a non-commissioned officer, and had families by ljotli women. Ho i had maintained two establishments.
