BIBLE CLASSES.
Referring to the work of Bible classes and other agencies the annual report of St. John's Church (Presbyterian), Willis Street, states:— Young Men's Class, Willis Street — Tho roll last year numbered SJJl—it is now 90—a gain of two. The average attendauce has been 50.25. Forty-two names were removed from the roll and 44 added. Forty-two members aro in full communion with tho Church, and of this number eight joined during the year: four by examination and four by certificate. " ■ The Boys' Institute-.-The institute ismanaged by a committee comprising not only certain ex-officio office-bearers of the church and the Bible Class, but by representatives of the subscribers elected-at each annual meeting. The work is done on a broad, undenominational basis, and not only is the question of creed underraiscd when a boy is admitted, but even in the Sunday religious services there is absolutely no effort made to identify the lads with any ono church in preference I to another. The number of boys connected with, the Institute is 252. Willis Street Young Women's Class:— This class continues to give- an excellent account of itself. That it maintains its roll numbers at a high figure notwithstanding tho fact that there is another young_ women's class meeting at the same time in the church structure: is very gratifying. Tho roll was at the beginnm"" of the year 100; now it is 95. The average attendance throughout a period of phenomenally wet weather was GO, an increase of "10 on the preceding year. Of the 95 members of the class, 70 are in full communion with the olmrch, G7 belonging to St. John's, and three to other churches. Twenty of the G7 were added to the church roll during tho period under review, eleven by examination and nine by certificate. Willis Street Young Women's Class, No. 2:—During the last, twelve months this class has had a chequered experience. Early in the year Sister Mabel, the conductor, had to leave Wellington, and for tho greater part of the year tho class was without a leader. In the face of this it is gratifying that the membership, which twelve months ago was Jβ, is now . 50. Twenty-six members are in full communion with the church, and of these four joined during the year, three by examination and one by certificate;' one member joined tho Sunday School staff, and one or more members are told off every Sunday afternoon to give any help thatt may be needed in the schoo'l. Mount Cook Young Men's Class:—This little class is at least holding its own in respect of numbers and otherwise. The roll is the same as at the beginning of tho year, 11, with an average attendance of 8. ;
