FREE LABOUR.
ATTITUDE OF THE OWNERS. Auckland, August 19. In regard to the report from Waihi that the Waihi Company is issuing circulars in Auckland to obtain men to start work in tho mines, Mr. Rhodes, managing director of the Waihi Company, denies that any such circular is being issued from tho company's office. Several men had waited on him, and urged tho company to employ free labour, and his reply was that if they could ehow that there we.ro sufficient free labourers wanting work at Waihi there was.no reason, why work should not be given out at the mines, but the company hud not been looking for men.
