THE DANDIES.

Tho Dandies (green) entered upon their final ,weok at the Concert Chamber Inst evening, when a capital programme, embodying tho gems of the company's extensive repertoire was presented to an appreciative audience. That spry little comedian, Mr. Herbert Wall on, 1 was in first-rate form, nnd in addition to sinsing a budget of live "comics," gave further evidence of liis strenuous methods in, a dramatic recital of the turf, entitled "Correct Card." The audience showed its appreciation in nn unmistakable manner, and that favourite poem of all elocutionists, "Lnsca," wns recited with no little dramatic skill of the obvious hardworking character. Mr. Walton also joined with Miss Florence Henderson in tho Japanese duet "San San Sno," sung in tho dim Oriental light of half a dozen Chinese lanterns. Mr. Joseph Brcnnnn is a monologuist of undoubted talent. His appearance, voice, gesture. ,l , nnd expression are excellent, and in "A Fallen Star" lie suffuses an atmosphere redolent of what the, old ncfor describes' as "tho pnlmy days of histrionic art." His second 'monologue was equally good, and quite in a different tone. It was an old tramps' soliloqy over his faithful dog, grown as feeble as his master. Mr. George Horton sang "Mnria" and ' Piccadilly," nnd Mr. ■Renn Miller's robust banlone was heard to advantngo in "Tho Baiulalcro" and "Tho Gladiator.' Miss Florence Henderson, a very subdued souhrctto. with an attractive presence, sang "Goo-Goo Land" nnd "A Little Bit of Navv Blue." Miss Tessa Byrne, repeated her nicely-acted scena "JtendczvouK," and with Miss Dorothy Maiming sang "Tho Venetian Boat Song" tunefully. Miss Dorothy Manning's contributions were the pretty songs "Tune's Golden Song and "Jasmine Door." The season of the present Dnndies' rnmpniiy Iwininntcs on Saturday evening next. The Dandies (red) are to reappear in Wellington in nbout a fortnight's time.
