COLLEGE OLD BOYS' REUNION.
KING'S AND SOUTHERN SCHOOLS. ; The second portion of thte King's Cdlego Old Boys' reunion took place nt Auckland on Friday evening, in. the form of a theatre party at the Opera House. There were J3O King's College Old Boys present, besides 90 representatives from southern colleges, including representatives from Nelson, Wellington, Wanganui, and Christ's Colleges, and Otago and Waikati High Schools. At tlio conclusion a reunion of the members of southern colleges was Ireld at tho Tiffin, all those who were pr<«t'iit at the theatre attending. Jlr. J. N. Kisliworth presided, and the president, vicepresidents, and secretary of the- King's College. Old Boys' Association were present by invitation. The principal toast, that of "Southern Colleges." was proposed by Dr. W. C. W. -Al'Dowell, who thanked all those present for participating in. the annual reunion, of the King's College Old Boys. He stated that tho function tliat evening was the first combined reunion, of representatives of Suithern colleges, but was, he understood, to l>3 the forerunner of. many more. He appealed to all present to realise tho ideal which should bo before them as men of education, and to make the advantages bolonging to them by reason of fhat education felt in the community. He appealed to them as old public school men for an interest in university education, and said that, while wishing to avoid anything of a controversial nature, he wished he could feel assured of their sympathy in the struggle for better facilities for university education in Auckland. (Applause.) The toast was coupled with, tho names of Sfessrs. E. S. Grundy (Wellington College), S. T. George fWauganm College), Dr. Holden (Christ's Collego), F. H. Levien (X«lson College), A. L. Denniston (Otago High School), ¥. A. Vickerman (Otaki High, School), all of whom suitably
