Prince 'Arthur of Connaught, representing the King, visited the ltoyal Show at Doncaster on July 3. The sun shono brilliantly, nnd there was a largo crowd to welcome the Prince. He was tecejved at the station by the Jlnyor and corporation and a' gunrd of honour of the Yorkshire Light Infantry, and a detachment of tho Yorkshire Dragoons escorted him on tho drive to the show ground, where ho was met by Lord Middleton, the president, and Sir Gilbert Grcenall, tho honorary director. After luncheon in the royal pavilion, which was beautifully decorated, tho Prince made a tour of tho exhibits. Dr. A. C. Dixon, tho pastor of the Metropolitan Tabernacle, London, lms announced that ho had Wn in negotiation for the purchase of tho Elephant and Castle, which he wants to convert into n Biblo nnd tract repository and a Goppc-1 mission hall. The purchase price ho told a meeting of his congregation would bo .£IOII,OOO, and .£IO,OOO would givo him possession. '
