MR. JONES'S CAREER. By Telegraph—Pross Association—Copyright London, August 16. Mr. Jones, who, with his wife aud a guide, -was killed whilo mountaineering, •was a leading export in stereo-chemistry. He was recently elected by tho Royal Society as a member of tho Royal Commission appointed to inquire under tho presidency of Admiral lord Pisher' into the, advisability of/using oil fuel in the Navy. Mr. Jones was reputed to bo cue of the best' English climbers. His wife, •was a brilliant scholar and an enthusiastic climber. f THE BODIES RECOVERED. (Rec. August 18, 5.5 p.m.) Rome, August 17. The bodies of Mr. and Mrs. Jones and the guide have been found. They fell a thousand feet. The rope had broken twice.
