MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
(Before Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M.) STOLEN STATUTES. RAILWAY OFFICER ACCTAED. Charles Clement Fish wn3 charged with that whilo a servant of the New Zealand Government railways he stole, one set of New Zealand Consolidated Statutes, valued at .£lO, the property of the State. Mr. A. M. Salek appeared for tho defendant. Chief-Detective Broberg asked for a remand. Mr.' Snlelc requested tho Court to admit Fish to bail. The chief detective then statfd that the class of offenco which was under consideration had been going on for years, and that other charges were to bo brought. iFish was remanded till to-day, and bail (,£10) was allowed. , OTHER CASES. William Stewart M'Cutchcon was sentenced to one month's imprisonment for having followed an "idle and disorderly" mode of life. For having broken a prohibition order, Edith Home was .convicted and was ordered to appear for sentence next Saturday; and Peter Mulcahy was fined .£•!.
