MOTOR CYCLING
The New Zealand Motor Cycle Club held au "acceleration" test on Saturday afternoon on Matai Road, Miramar North. The event attracted a good field of entries, and was watched by a largo number of spectators. The machines were divided into three classes, each class being run off in pairs, the winners of each heat competing again, till the finals were reached. The following are the results:— Class A. up to 22-h.p.—H. Pliinmor, 2J Douglas (ser.). 1; E. Irviue, 2i A..1.5. (40yds.), 2. Time, 33 4-ssec. Class B, up to 4-h.p—H. Townsend !V\ Triumph (15yds.), 1; V. Sutherland, 3} Triumph (scr.), 2. Time, 31 2-ssoc. Thero were ten starters. Class C, over 4-h.p.—lt. S. Bender, 7 Indian (set.), 1 i H. Gastcin, 7 Indian (15yds.), 2. Time,. 2G 4-ssec. Nine starters. The following are the officials:—Starter, C. D. Bridge; judge, F. W. Rankine; time-keepers, E. W. Daniel and L. P... Barber; handicappers, E, P, Bender and " P. W. Eankine.
