A verdict of Accidental Death was returned at an inquest at Burslem, England, on James Myatt, twenty-five, painter, who was shot whilo handling a revolver. It was stated that he had been in the habit of showing his friends a trick with the revolver. He would placo a cartridge in the chamber immediately under the hammer, but when he pulled the trigger the chamber revolved and the hammer struck an empty chamber.. At the time of the accident when • he produced the revolver to show the trick it-went off and the bullet passed through his head, killing him instantaneously. An illustration of how Irish rural marriaws are frequently arranged was given in Roscommon County Court recently. A Mrs. May Flvnn raed her son Bernard to recover MO. He said it was not a loan, but was part of his marriage settlement. The ruarriago settlement, according to a witness, was that Mrs. Flynn was to give her son JC2O and a farm, and the »irf 'was to bring a "fortune" of .490.
