ROSS GOLDFIELDS, LIMITED. —? (By Tdeeraph.—Special Corresoondent.) Hokltlka, August 16. It will bo welcome information to share*, holders to learn that the Rosa goldflelds will bo starting active oporatioo3 next week. Everything has been overhauled and in order for the last few weeks, but the delay has been caused by the difficulty in getting suitable engineer for the power house. As everything at the mine depends upon the running of the power house, the company's manager has been most careful in the selection of the, ruen who will have charge of this part of the work. The comj>any lias been fortunate in securing Mr. Templin t-o take chargc of the electrical plant. Mr. Templin is recognised as a very c&nable alternating current engineer. He has nad extensive experience in Aineri- . ca, and, for ecven years, held an important position with the company that built tho Ross goldfields electrical plant. Word was received yesterday that the rest of tile staff had now been obtained, and that Jlr. Templin would arrive in Uokitika on Wednesday next, and start the power house. As tho plant ha 3 been closed down for some two years, it will probably take a week or more to dry it out, and put it in good shape. Tho same applies to th-3 electrical plant at Ross. If the fine weather experienced for the last few weeks continues, the time required for drying out will be considerably shortened. From present appearances tho pumps should bo started ajrain 'at Roes in a fortnight or three weeks' - time.
