The report of the Federal Parliamentary Committee,, which has been considering the ■ establishment or a historic memorial gallery, provides that a start is to bo made with Sir Henry. Parkes. Eighteen "names have been placed on tho list. They' include Sir Edmund Barton (the first Prime Minister),' Sir. H. H. Kingston, Mr. Deakin, Mr. J. C. "Watson, Sir George. Reid, Mr. Fisher (the successive Prime Minister), Lord Dudley, Lord Denman, the Marquis of Linlithgow, and Lord Northcote (the Governor-Generals). The artists are to receive ,£250 for fullsize portraits; ,£l5O for half or 'three? quarter sizes; .£l2O for a bust; and .£l5O for a replica .of an existing "portrait.
