LE CEEN CASE. THE FINDING OF THE JTJRT H,?r, St r' fred ft Cren ' in whMO case the jury disagreed last week, was re-tried yesterday before Mr. Justice Chapman ihe charge against Le Cren was that on b\a diflerent occasions he had committal a certain act with intent to insu" t a female. Mr. P. S. K. Macassey, of the wM^f a V°4 ee ' re P r ?*>nted the Crown, whilo Mr. M. Myers, with Mr. E. J Fit?gibbon, appeared for Lo Cren, who 'pleaded not guilty. l His Honour ordered the Court to be cleared during tho hearing, and made an oiler prohibiting publication of evidence. The jury retired, at 3.15 p.m. After being absent for two hours and a quarter they returned, and the foreman aniionnced that they found tho prisoiw guilty of tho act, but without tho "intent to insult. ui-ui.
His Honour: Well, gentlemen, it is my duty to direct you on that finding to ocquit the accused. ■
The verdiot was accordingly entered up as one of 'Not guilty," and the prisoner was discharged.
