TRADE WITH CANADA.
r—?!Dy Telegraph.—Press Association.) Auckland, August 15. The Canadian Trado Commissioner (-Mr. W. A. Beddoe) was waited upon by a reporter this morning with rega'rd to tho London cablp message which referred to his report on trade possibilities between Canada and New Zealand. The cable message briefly suggested that Jlr. Beddoo had urged tho advisability of largw importations of Canadian cattle and development of tho importation, of lumber. Mr. Beddoe said that ho hart urged those things among others. There had, he explained, recently been solue importations of high-class dairy cattle, of Holstein breed, and importers wero so pleased with, these, cattle that the man who brought them over had returned to Canada with additional orders so that tho suggestion Jlr. Beddoe made to (he .Canadian Government some time ago appears to bo bearing fruit. Speaking on the subject of timber Jlr. Beddoe faid: "There are large orders available, which could go to Canada if transportation facilities were provided. With regard to tho subject of New Zealand exportation of butter to Canada, Jlr. Heddne <-\\id: "The extension of this has exceeded the expectations of the most sanguine N'oiv Zealand exporter, butter being exported on every steamer notwithstandhii: the fact that the Canadian season for bultormaking commenced months atjo. In other word*, without regard to Reasons, (be New Zealand shipment of butter to Canada has Ix'cn uninterrupted month bv month—an unprecedented state of affairs."
