House of Representatives and the Sonata has cancelled the Senate's provision which gave free passage through the- Panama Canal to American ships engaged in foreign trade.
An amendment embracing the Senate's general principle was adopted, covering railroad-owned ships and the relations between railroads and «teamship lines,
The prohibition of passago for trustowned ships remains, and also tho right of free passage for American coasting vessels.
