DISTRESSING OCCURRENCE.
(By Telegrapli.-Presa Association.) Auckland, August 15. Susannah Atkinson, aged 28 years, wife of Jabsz Atkinson, gardener, iu the employ of the City Council,,committed suicide at Khvber Pass to-night. Deceased left, a few lines saying her husband was in no way to blame. No reason can Ik assigned for tho woman's rash act, but it is understood sho was very delicate and suffered from insomnia. About 18 months ago, it is stated, sho nmde ft similar attempt on her life, but recovered after treat meat at the hospital. Deceased leaves two little girls, aged ,1 and 10 years respectively.
