Sir A. T. Quillcr-Couch ("Q," the novelist) and Professor Oman wrote parts of tho pageant. One episode dealt with a perio;l before 912, illustrating the story of St.' Erideswide, round whoso shriuo tho present city has grown up. Then there was an opisodo of, tho earliest authentic record of Oxford's existenceQueen Ethelfleda handing the keys of the city to King Edward tho Elder in 912.
