Durnan (sculling champion of Canada) has received notification of Barry's willingness to meet him in a race- for tho world's championship ■in September, on the Thames, England.' Barry stipulates for .£OOO a-side, and a deposit of .8100.
CHALLENGE BY PEARCE. (Rec. August 16, 0.50 a.m.) Sydney, August 15. Pearce has lodged a deposit of .£IOO for his race with Barry, and has cabled a challenge to meet the champion on tho Thames in August of next year. Ho has asked X 250 for his expenses.
