PEOTEST AGAINST AN APPOINTMENT. By TeleeraDh—Press Association- Conyrizht London, August 11. Tho Peking correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph" states that deputations ,of officials have protested to the President, General Yuan-Shih-Kai, against the npr pointment of Dr. Morrison, Peking correspondent of."Tho Times," as political adviser to tho President. It was explained that only Departmental experts were required, and it was urged that the country would not tolerate an alien being entrusted with secrets regarding general and political affairs. , General Yuan-Shih-Kai reserved his plyIt is expected that a compromise will bo arranged.
