METHODIST UNION.
THE FIRST UNITED CONFERENCE, ', (By Telegraph— Press Association.) Chrlstchureh, August 15. ■ The comtnittoes appointed' by the Methoi. ' dist Church and the Primitive Mctho-' '■ dist Church to consider union affairs, met on Wednesday and decided that tho first united conference should meet in WolJ" lington nn February 6, lfll3. As regards tho membership of tho first stationary committee, it was decided that for tho first conference 'each Church, should appoint its own' stationary committee in the usual 'manner, and then unito to make tho appointments for 1913. It was decided that ■ministers of tho Primitive Mothodist Church uniting with the Mothodist Church should bo required to purchase from tho supernumerary fund of tho united Church benefits equal to not less than the prospective benefits to which they may bo respectively entitled from the funds of tho Primitive ' Methodist Church at tho time of union.
Regarding the 1913 conference, it wal decided that the representation, as provided for in the basis of union, be ad» hered to. f
The committee also recommended that at the first united session of the conference, Dr. Voungman (president of 'to General Conference of Australasia) should preside and conduct tlio elections, and that, on the evening of the same day, a public gathering should bo hold in the Wellington Town Hall, at which tlio declaration of union should be signed and; attested. :
