SLUMP IN GAS SHARES.
EFFECT OF NEW SOUTH WALES BILL. Br Telegraph-Press Association-Copyright Sydney, August 14. Gas shares, show a further fall of 10s. as the icsult of the Bill the Government is introducing dealing with gas companies, cheapening the price, providing heavy penalties for supplying defective illuminant, and fixing a dividend not exceeding four per centum on the paid-up capital of the companies.
COMPANIES AND THEIR EIGHTS. (R«c. August 15, 0.30 a.m.) Sydney, August 14. Petitions have been presented by tho gaslight companies, asking that provision shall bo made in the Bill -to protect their properties, rights, and interests.
