Retailers complain thai on this account i also their business has been considerably affected." . Auckland reports: "There are somo men ; out of work iu the building trade, and also labourers, but that is <lue largt-lv to the unsatisfactory state of the weather. During tho last week or so there has been a considerab'o amount of wet weather, and of course outsido work must be con, siderably interfered with in consequence. . The report from Christchurch says: "The past few weeks have been very wet and wintry—in fact, it has been the worst spell of wet weather experienced for years. Retail trades were practically, at a standstill, and outside employment was interfered with very much, especially in the building trades."
