THE DISTRICT CRICKET SCHEME.
Sir, —It is true that there is a certain faction of Wellington cricketers which hope's to see the old club system roverte(l to, in place of the. present hybrid district scheme. But it is not true, n? stated in your columns this morning, that the present agitation "is largely emanating from ono of the junior clubs, who esp'ect to 1)0 reinforced by a number of seniors if tho district system is broken uo." It. would. surprise yon lo know the number of player.-; who desire the old order of things back again, and'their hope is that' tho delegates at tho special 'meeting of the .Cricket Association next week may bo of the same mind. Personally, 1 havo always advocated that district cricket would nover be a success in Wellington, and nobody with a knowledge of t: c t;;o----sent poorness of play locally will assert, that it has worked successfully. We have had tkreo years' experience and surely, that is sufficient? It lias In<ll weighed in the balance and r ound wanting.—l am, etc., THE VETERAX.
