J. Nathan. J. Strang, D. Buick, M.P., P. A. M'Hardy, li. M'Nab, J. Goring-Jolmstou, ,T. J. Whitehead, E. S. Dixon, and Mrs. Tripe; committee, Messrs. Tasker, Amos, Sluiiler, Mason, Wighton, Tillcy, Just, Win ton, Bule, Hale, and the Kev. I?other and Thomas; treasurer, Jlr. G. W. Keeling; auditor, Mr. C. F. Spooner. It was decided to request Mrs. Tripe to organise a Ladies' Committer, to work up the bulb show, to be held on September 11, the prize-money for which has been largely increased. Tho High School Board of Governors has decided to once with tho construction of swimming bnths at tho high school, and tenders arc being called for tho work. Mr. George Wheeler, who met with a trap accident at Feilding on Friday last, is still in the Palmerston Hospital. Tuo case is regarded as serious. Four Maoris were capsized out of a motor-car on Foxton Line on Saturday, night, and two of them received rather bad hurts. They were taken to a private hospital. A private cablegram from Home states that Councillor Haydon, of Palmerston, is recovering rapidly from his indisposition, and he now proposes to return to the Dominion by the Moldavia, which leaves London on September 20. About a score of Palmerstomans will take part in the musittil and elocutionary competitions at Napier this week.
