CITY FIRES.

k- —; — Shortly before 11 o'clock yesterday I morning the fire brigade received n call to a four-roomed house in i'ule Street, Kilbimie, occupied by Mrs. Clark, and owned by Messrs. Easson and Co. The fire originated in. the wash-house, very littls damage being done. The contents of tho house were insured in the State Office for JCIOO. • At 5.23 p.m. the brigade was called to the motor parage of Mr. Geo, Pinnock on Lambton Quay. A sack had been thrown on the furnace, and had commenced to smoulder, causing some of the wood-work to catch fire. The damage was very slight. ... A third call necessitated tho brigade turning out again at G. 22 p.m. to No. 72 Kent Terrace. A chimney had caught fire, but practically no damage was done.
