KANIERI MINING COMPANY.

The Knnieri Mining Company, recently formed to work ground at Kanieri, has acquired the Humphreys Gully l Mining Company's water-race, the price being 4210,000. It is stated that this water right, which comprises 100 heads, cost the original owners ,£IOO,OOO, and the purchasers are now- in a position to treat auriferous ground which has hitherto been nnworked for tho reason that no water has previously been available to treat it. The company thinks that it has a very bright future before it as, besides the exceptional asset, the operations of the Government keystone borer, under the control of Mr. Sealo. have resulted in a thorough test of a wide area which, it is stated, has all proved to be rich, as high as on ounce to the load heing obtained. More than half the total capital required (,£30,000) was subscribed before any pro. (spoctus was issued. The. flotation of tho company is solely, in the hands of Mr. A. A. Leo, engineer, who knows the property. It is understood that the intention is. io scatter the shares throughout Now Zealand.
