Bochum (Westphalia) while 650 men were in the pit show that 101 of the dead miners have been recovered. Sixteen are. still missing. The Kaiser, speaking at the Krupp centenary celebrations, feelingly referred to the colliery disaster at Bochum. (Bee. August 11, 5.5 p.m.) Berlin, August 10. The Kaiser visited the hospital at Bochum. Many of the men rescued were shocking, ly burned and mutilated. The eurvivors state that a sudden dull roar was heard, and then the lower levels were filled with poisonous gases. The miners dropped their tools and ran to tho exits, only to find that they were barred by masses of fallen coal and a wall of i flame. Many retreated as far as possible into tho interior, and vainly waited to bo rescued. Charred bodies are being brought to the surface
