, f ■ •>., EXTENSION WANTED. \ A deputation from the Waiau dietrict to urp the claims of the extension of tho railway from Culverdeu to W.uw stated that all their efforts with tho previous Administration had been futile, and it was becoming a case .of hope deferred - making the heart sick. • Both the Prime Minister, and the Minister for Public Works expressed their, sympathy with the- settlers in regard _ to tno disadvantages they wore labouring under. They also said there was no doubt that tho lino could be cheaply made, and Hint it would pay from the etart The Hon. \V. Frascr added that if he remained in office, and it was decided to make the line, he wouli bco that no money was wasted. \ The Primo Minister raid he did not know yet whether nn Authorisation Bill would bo introduced this session, but 11 it was Cabinet would consider tho ques tion of including this extension,
