A LARGE BEQUEST.

By the will of the lute iff- Henry Gooi-e White, of Whitley, Melksham, Wilts who died on April 28 last, about a quarter of a million sterling is left to religious and charitablo purposes, of which about X 210.000 is to bo .used at the discretion of the Bishop ol London for Church purposes. Subject to the payment of other bequests and legacy duty, the residue of the property, which amounts to about JEiaO.OOO, or after payment of duty, is left to tho Bishop o"f. London for the time being, to be utilised by him in any mode lie may think advisable for the benefit and advancement of the Church of England, such as for building, re-building, or restoring churches, endowments, or augmentation of clergy stipends or livings. . It is my wish, however, that the churches or clergy in'the county of Wilts should first receive the consideration of tho Bishop."

The Picv. G. M. Clibborn, vicar < f St. Gabriel's, Cricklewood, England, has been killed in a railway collision at I. ; nkoe)>ing, Sweden. He was taking a holiday abroad at the request of his parishioners. In recognition of twenty-one years* scivico at St. Gabriel's, his parishioners had presented him with a cheque to cover all his expenses. The Rev. C. E.
