The Seventh Test Match, begun at Nottingham between the Australians and South Africans on Monday, has been abandoned owing to heavy and persistent rain. The scores at tho conclusion of the second day's play were as follow:— SOUTH AFRICA. First Innings - 329 AUSTRALIA. First Innings 219 Tho "Westminster Gazette" says that tho poor summer has badly served the first attempt at triangular cricket matches. The supremacy is left to circumstances, wherein luck must count almost as much as play. . ENGLAND V. SOUTH AFRICS. London, August 7. Tho English team to meet South Africa at the Oval on Monday next is as follows:—Fry, Spooner, Hearne, Barnes, Foster, Hobbs, Woolley, Rhodes, Smith, Hitch, and Hayes. Tho last-named replaces Haigh.
