-4 ACCIDENT TO A FERRY STEAMER. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Auckland, August 8. Shortly before seven, o'clock this morning a dense black fog, the heaviest, that has boon experienced in Auckland fbr many years, came down slowly from the westward. During the succeeding four hours shipping was completely disorganised, the ferries making occasional trips between wharf and wharf as much as 50 minutes behind schedule time-table. Tho Dcvonport Ferry Company's steamer Peregrine, which was approaching the 'AuciajiEitl jetty, .missed the berth and bumped into the eastern side, of Queen Street Wharf, narrowly missing the Harbour Board's tug Te Awhina.
