Referring to the critical international situation, a member of the Federal House of .Representatives suggested that : tho Prime Minister (Mr. A. Fisher) should »ble to Great Britain to ascertain if all necessary steps had been taken to protect Australian trade. Mr. Fisher said the Government was not acquainted with all the steps taken by Great Britain to safeguard her Dominions' interests, and tho Government .could hardly be called upon to inquire into the subject; but ho was satisfied that any additional vigilance necessary would be thown'by the British Government.
