TO-DAY'S DINNER.
(Spsoially written for Tub Dominion.) FRIDAY. Pumpkin soup. Boiled fish. Ejrg sauce. Mashed potatoes. Apple dumplings. PUMPKIN SOUP (MAIGRE). Two pounds pumpkins, 3ozs. butter or dripping,- 1 teaspoonful each of salt and sugar, a, tablcspoonful flour, 3 pints milk, i pint of water. Cut the pumpkin into dice, and put into a pan with the butter, salt, and sugar. Stir over tho fire for a few minutes; add the J pint of water, and let it simmer until tho pumpkin is tender (about three-quarters of an hour). Rub through a sieve, add the milk (or milk and meat stock), and when hot add the flour mixed smoothly with a little milk. Boil for a quarter of an hour, and serve with sippets of'fried bread. ' FOE TO-MORROW. Two pounds artichokes. Stock. Two pounds fillet of beef (2in. thick). Cabbage. Cocoa. Breadcrumbs. Essenco of vanilla. FOR SUNDAY. Tin of tomatoes. Shoulder of pork. Apples. Sage. Cauliflower. Dates. FOR SUPPER, Pressed brisket of beef. Salad. Lemons. Stale sponge cokes.
