BIBLE IN SCHOOLS.

Canon Garland, who was chiefly instrumental in organising the Bible-in-schools sa'mpaign in Queensland, and to whom is :lue the chief credit of the successful issue of the campaign, is expected to arrive in Wellington on the 14th instant. The headquarters of the central executive are in Christchurch, but Canon Garland intends to direct operations from Ayellingtqjn as central, and as the' seat of .the (xovernme'nt. An office will be opened in this etiy, and the work taken vigorously in hand at once. At a meeting of the executive, of the Queensland League, Canon Garland was tarowolled, and the. following resolution ivas adopted.—"The executive, on the eve if departure of Canon Garland to under; take tho organising of the Piblo in State schools League in tho Dominion of New Zealand, places on record its high appreciation of the inestimable .service that lie has rendered witih such conspicuous ability as organising secretary tor tin past six years; and the executive grateFully acknowledges that the restoration cii the Bible in the State schools of Queensland has been mainly due to his leadership, and for which good work the entire lornmunity owe him a debt of gratitude, In commending him to the New Zealand !>aguc, the executive can assure all ranches of tho Christian Church comprising the same that they can safely ?lace implicit confidence in his imparial and unswerving lovalty to the objects >f tlie league; and the executive prays hat the blessijig of God may attend their mited endeavours to secure for the child•en of New Zealand tho priceless blessings low enjoyed by the children of Quecnsand. e "That the thanks of the executive be ;iven to the Women's League for their •aluable co-operation in the Valedictory locial to the organising secretary, Canon jarlahd and Mrs. Garland, in the Albert Hall.
