The report showed that the' membership had increased. Several old shots had dropped out, however, and it was thought that, a special effort should bo made to keep up tho shooting strength of the club to its present. standard. A series of matches had been held, the A class being won by W. Cook, and the B class by G. Newth. The second series of- matches was won in the A class by J. Kyle, and the B class by V. Kyle. Tho Greer Cup was carried "off by W. Cook. The eight members of tho club who took part in the Treutham meeting made a fair showing, E. Needham finishing in the first 25, while \V. Randall , was in the final stage of tho Service Championship. H. Griggs won the aggregate at the Bulls Eiile meeting, and' club members were rtinners-up in tho teams match. The bal-ance-sheet showed a credit of .£l2 16s. The following officers were ejected-.—Pat-ron, Mrs. S. Greer; president, Mr. Hugh! A kers; vice-president, 'Mr. "W. Randall; secretary, Mr. A-. W-. Baker; assistant-, secretary. Mr. W. Ball; committee, Messrs.'B. Pratt, H. Griggs, G. Newth, and K. Needham; handicap committee, Messi-;. E. Perrin, W. Randall, and J. Dalztell. ' The Campbell Street School Committee held its monthly meeting last night. The headmaster (Mr. F. K. Watson) reported that the roll number was 710, and the average attendance 673. The appointment, of Mr. E. G. Coddineton as fifth assistant teacher, vice Mrs. Mellish, resigned, was confirmed. Sub-committees were set up (6 make a systematic canvass of the town for subscriptions towards ' the construction of the proposed swimming baths at tlit! school. . A Ion? list of new books have just been added to the shelves of the public library. These are principally fiction.
