AND DELAY IN PASSING THEM. . (By Telegraph.—Boccial Correspondent.) \ Wanganui, August 6. Tho dolay in the passing of the small contracts for roads and bridges was mentioned at a meeting of the Chamber of Comnierco Inst night, it being stated tlint these had to go "nil over tho country" to Ret passed, to the disgust of all concerned. It was resolved that the Government be asked to authorise the local resident engineers to pass plans for all contract? for less than .£101)0, and that local bodies be asked to support the request.
