At yesterday's meeting of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce a letter was received from tho Greyinouth Chamber of Coiinnerce, conveying a resolution adopted by that body: "That this chamber asks the various chambers of commerce throughout the Dojiijnion to co-operate in urging upon the Government the necessity of placing upon the Statute Booli such legislation as will stop strikes and lock-outs, such as are going on in the Dominion to-day, and to countenance no union unless registered under the Arbitration Act; any person, who by word or deed shall invite or in any way pssist a strike shall be prosecuted under the Criminal Code Act. "You will undoubtedly agree," wrote the Greymouth Chamber, "that the sitxiation at the present time is critical.* The spirit of (ho above lntion was • approved, and it wa; decided to forward a copy of the resolution to the Wellington members ol Parliament.
