AN EMPIRE MOVEMENT.

PARLIAMENTARY ASSOCIATION, Some twenty members of both Houses ol Parliament met yesterday morning for tho purpose of forming a branch in New Zealand of tho Empire Parliamentary Association, an institution which wag founded in London when representatives of Parliament of tho Dominions assembled there last year for tho Coronation. Tho objects of tho association are to provide for its members in tho various Parliaments—lntroductions and hospitality, travel facilities, special information, meetings amongst members of tho association for tho discussion of matters of mutual interest, Patliamcntary privileges, general facilities for intercourse. The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Sir Arthur- Guinness, presided at the meeting.

On tho motion of Mr. A. S. Malcolm, seconded by the Hon. C. H. Mills. It wn« resolved that a branch of tho association be formed.

Tho following provisional committee was set up to take steps to give effect to tho resolution;— Sir Charles Bowon (Speaker of the Legislative Council), Sir Arthur Guinness (Speaker of the House of Representatives), Hons. G. Jones and 0. Samuel, Hon. C.-H. Mills, Hon. R. H. Rhodes, Hon. P. M. B. Fisher, Messrs. A. S. Mai. oolm, A. M. Myers, and D. Buddo. Mr. Malcolm ' was appointed hon. secretary, and tho-committee was instructed to report on tho IGth inst.
