« "MANIFEST SIGNS 01" PROGRESS."' At tho adjourned meeting of tho Board el Management of tho 'J'aranaki Street Methodist Church, held on Thursday evening, and presided over by tho Rev. J. G. Chapman, the question of tho work of God in tho circuit was considered, mid tlio following resolution was passed:— "That this meeting, after a full and freediscussion, expresses its gratitude, to God for tho manifest; signs of progress in tho circuit. In spilo of constant removals, tho membership has increased by il during tho year.. The services are well attended, much material progress has been made, and the finances are healthy. Tho work among tho young people is very gratifying, particularly in connection with our Sunday Schools. Tho attendance at tho Sacramental services is good. Tlio work of our deaconesses among tho poor and sick is much appreciated. Immigrants' aro met, and strangers are welcomed. Wo are conscious, however, that amid much that calls for thankfulness, moro' might bo done for tho spiritual progress and welfare of our Church; and wo solemnly plcdgo ourselves to a deeper concern in,all that pertains to tho highest in. tcrosts of our Church." Tho following resolution was also carried unanimously:— "That this meeting of tlio Quarter Board desires to placo on record iUs high appreciation of tlio earnestness and zeal displayed by our ministers.
