was held last uvening, Mr. If. M'ivcow™ presiding. Regarding the visit of a Wellington repn'si'iitalive team to Napier during carnival week, it was decided that Mr. \Y. Duncan be manager, and that tho team leave Wellington on Augu-t Hi and return on Monday, August 19. Some discussion ensued over the quesiiou of the number of players who are to go to Napier. It was finally decided I hat the selectors be allowed to Use their discretion in the matter of sending a twelfth man. ' The secretary of tho Amukura Hoys' Club wrote stating that their team could liol travel to Porirua next Saturday, on ' account of the bovs having certain routine work to tlo. It was decided that the match Porirua v. Amokura be cancelled. 'This decision was arrived at on account of (hero being no town grounds available owing to other fixtures. A communication received from' the Auckland l-'oothall Association stated that u Fifth Division representative team . would visit Wellington on. August: 24.—It' was decided that permission be a?ked ftiiu the City Council to take, up a collection on Newtown Park on the dale in question. .The twonty-iirst "birthday dinne:'"' rf the Wellington' L-'ootball Association will bo held on Wednesday, August 21. Mr. C. P. Skerretl. K.C., president, will occupy the chair. Regarding a visit of a boy's representative team from Blenheim, the Marlborough Association wrote stating that they were agreeable to play a match against Wellington on August 10. This was approved. The following letter was received from the Town Clerk, Wellington:—''l am directed-by the Reserves Committee to collect without, delay-all ground fees due by various clubs using the city reserves. I shall therefore Ixj' glad if you will forward me by return' mail a cheque in full payment of ground fees owing by your club. The amount is <£39 7s. (id. This communication was apparently a stumbling-block, and members appeared to bo dubious about discussing it. A motion was moved and carried to the effect that the matter be deferred until a reply had . been received respecting the association's letter to tho council re charges for grounds in- connection with Wednesday competitions. Motions of sympathy were passed vith the relatives of _ tho late Messrs. C. D Stevens and M'Kay. The Fourth Division match Marist Bros, v. St. David's will not be played on Saturday next. The Marist Bros. School Club will play St. Mary's School Club, Blenheim, at Duppa Street, No. 1,-at 3 p.m. on Saturday. . . LACROSSE. The Wellington representative lacrosse teim leaves for Auckland this morning, and will play Auckland on Saturday, August 3. .Mr. O'Leory is captain of the team, and Mr. Hntton is acting as manager, ROWING. THE WELLINGTON CLUB. Tho annual' meeting of the Wellington Rowing Club was held last evening, Mr. W. M. Nidd presiding over a good attendance. The anaual report and balance-sheet were read and adopted. Mcssts. W. J. Grid ill and W. G. Shilling were unanimously elected active life members of tho clnb. It was resolved that tho entranco fee for active members under the ago of 20 years be 10s., and the anuuftl subscription .£1 Is.
