I'olice-Liontenant Charles Becker, who was named by Hermann Bofentli.il as the silent partner in his gambling house, has been arrested and charged with the murder in the first degree of Rosenthal. Ho pleaded not guilty. Rosenthal, who owned a gambling house, recently charged the Now York police with corruption, ond alleged that they received n sharp of the profits of gambling houses. Ho was murdered a few weeks ago.
